How
To Choose The Right Business
Everything You Wish You Knew Before You Gave Them Your Money
1) History of the Company
Unless you enjoy being a pioneer (which could be good for the right opportunity), it’s better to look for a company
that has at least a two year track record of good business. If the business has been working for others for this
long, it should be a sufficient indication that it will work for you as well. The best way to determine how long a
business has been around is to ask. It doesn’t always pay to rely on the Better Business Bureau or online discussion groups for your information. Many times all you
get are the complainers that never take the time and effort to make anything work. Make the effort to contact
the company owner and do an interview on your own.
2) Marketability
Business opportunities can offer products or services as well as other business opportunities. If there are
products for sale, be sure there are people ready to buy them? There are several ways to find out what people are
buying online. You may also consider that if the business has been around for a while then people are probably
still buying the product. You may have to rely on your instincts a little more if the products are new. Competition
is not a bad thing. All it means is that there is a viable market for the products so you will have to learn to be
a good marketer. Marketing must be included in the Training and Support mentioned in item #3.
You could be considering a business where you don’t have to sell anything. Although it’s rare that no marketing
will be required, some of these businesses will require a system of some kind to generate money. An affiliate
program is a powerful business model which doesn’t require you to sell anything. You simply refer people to another
company and get paid when you either refer a customer or when the customer buys something form the other company.
The reason why this business is very attractive is because the other company deals with all the hassles a business
incurs such as order entry, product fulfillment, customer support, warranties, returns, etc.
3) Training and Support
The most important aspect of any new business system especially for internet “Newbies.” Make sure there is a phone
number to call if you need help and an email support option that gets answered. It’s very important to make sure
that the training system is complete and includes lifetime upgrades at no additional charge. The training system
must be easy to follow and complete. It must include everything you need to know to make as much money as possible.
It should not require a college education to learn.
4) Potential Income
Can you make money if you put in the effort? Look long and hard at the compensation plan to make sure you really
understand it. Some can be very elaborate and intimidating in an attempt to confuse you. If you can not understand
the plan after reading it two or three times, then it’s too complicated. Be cautions about getting into a business
that can make you a few hundred dollars a month and claim that you will have to do very little for it. If you are
going to be serious about this, then you will need to be willing to put in the time necessary to build a profitable
business. (The part-time option is mentioned in item #7). Set a realistic income goal that will enable you to live
comfortably such as $4,000 - $10,000 a month and put a time from on attaining that income such as 6-12 months. If
possible, ask for referrals and find out how much they are making and how long it took them to make it.
5) Prior Experience Need Not Be Necessary
Success with any new program should not require any prior experience. If you have experience then you probably
would not be looking for a new business. Of course an experienced marketer can still benefit from participating in
as many online businesses they can comfortably handle.
6) A System You Can Replicate
Replicate? What does that mean? It means that the program should have a “system” already in place that has been
working to generate income. It means that if you follow this system exactly as it is currently working, then you
should be able to get similar results. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel and try to figure everything out from
scratch. Get into a business to make money, not spend it. Add good training and support to a replicatable system
and you should have a winner.
7) Can Be Done Part-Time
Beware of the programs that claim to be able to provide realistic results with a part time effort. Unless you are
independently wealthy (and if you were you wouldn’t be looking for a business to run), it is impossible to spend
all your time on a new business. Most people will continue with their “job” while they build their new income
stream so that can continue to pay the bills. So make sure your new business doesn’t require full-time hours to get
started or else you will never get it off the ground. Now this may sound like a catch-22 so be careful to start
slowly and gradually build your income without having to sacrifice lifestyle. Remember to use a system that will
minimize the time you have to spend on the business in the beginning and you will ultimately attain the new
lifestyle you are reaching for.
I hope this helps you as you search for your new business. All the business opportunities we represent have been
put through this same criteria and passed with flying colors. Since all of our businesses make money, it a good bet
that yours will to if you keep these seven elements in mind. One of the hazards many people have is their inability
to make a decision. Now that you are armed with this valuable information, don’t let indecision stop you from
attaining your life long goals. Just because we failed with many opportunities before we figured that out, doesn’t
mean you have to.
Go forward and build…
