Three Easy Steps To Building Your Marketing
Network
The S.M.A.R.T. Method
Hundreds of thousands of people have discovered multi level
marketing (MLM) as their tool to make money, so if you are
considering entering this arena it would be advisable to
remember two points:
1) You are not alone
2) The competition is severe
At the possible expense of discouraging you from your decision,
having a true understanding of these two points must serve as a
critical fact which should inspire you to put forth your very
best effort by capitalizing on your strengths and work
diligently on minimizing your weaknesses.
It is said that those who fail to plan are planning to
fail.
Having a plan is an essential element in building your
marketing network. You may have already decided on a
product or service so the next step is to create plan that is
goal oriented. Spending too much time creating a plan could put
a damper on reaching your goals, however it does need to
contain a few bench marks that will be used to measure your
progress towards a successful venture.
Some bench mark examples may be:
When do you want to achieve sales of $100?
When do you want to attain sales of $1000?
By what date do you expect to recruit your first down line
member?
How soon after you first team member joins you do you want them
to have their first recruit?
True bench marks also include a timeline for review and to
recognize that if they will not be met to move on. A convenient
acronym to use is S.M.A.R.T.
Specific: Don’t be vague. Make a statement of
fact, not feelings.
Measurable: How will you know when the goal
will be achieved?
Attainable: Is it something you have control
over. If it requires others to achieve the goal, you may fail
because others don’t do what they say they will do.
Realistic: Is the goal a reasonable one or pie
in the sky?
Timely: Set a specific date that you want to
accomplish the goal and incorporate daily reminders.
During the review periods, you need to assess whether you are
truly making an honest effort at making the business successful
or if it is simply not going as well as you had hoped and
thought.
Step two is exposure. The internet is global, so a well
designed and built website is imperative. If you don’t have
this advertising tool it will prevent you from finding the high
end marketers you need to attract to your business. It will
also make it very difficult for ready-to-buy customer to find
you. Your website must be created by an experienced webmaster
who understands results oriented content and search engine
optimization. A well created website will produce more results
than any other form of advertising.
Step three is the step of building your down line. This
could a complicated process because while at the onset you may
be anxious for new recruits and willing to connect with anyone
and everyone, you will quickly realize that some marketers can
actually take away your credibility and potential profitability
with just a few ill chosen campaigns. One member spamming
consumers may end up with you being blacklisted from some ISP’s
if it can be traced back to your business. Your good name will
be tarnished which is what you want to avoid at all costs when
building a business.
